Question: If the shuttlecock touches the outer edge of the outer line then it is out or in?

Answer
Hi Murali.

During a competition or tournament, this is usually decided by the line judge. The call may be very subjective and it totally depends on the line judge. However, most of the time, the decision will be called INSIDE so long as the head of the shuttlecock touches the line.

During a social game, you are your own judge. It is quite impossible to accurately watch where the shuttle lands. Maybe the best choice will be to let the player nearest to the shuttle make the call.

If I am a line judge in a competition, I will consider it IN if the shuttlecock touches the outer edge of the outer line.
